As many of you know, our family is based out of Louisville, Colorado and The Marshall Fire that burned ~1,100 residential structures a little over a year ago was right in our backyard (literally). It is an event that has effected us deeply, and we continue to work with our neighbors and communities to aid in rebuilding and community connection in as many ways as we can!
We are well aware of not only many of our neighbors being heavily underinsured, but also of the struggle it is for many to meet the new build sustainability codes.
With that being said, in our eXp Colorado meeting today we were introduced to this resource, and it is a grant and loan program to help people that need to rebuild their properties after a natural disaster meet these sustainability standards!!! We want to be another voice passing its existence along to hopefully connect our neighbors and communities to it:
The Colorado Sustainable Rebuilding Program from DSIRE USA run by the Colorado Energy Office:

“The Sustainable Rebuilding Program, run by the Colorado Energy Office, offers grants and loans to homeowners, owners of residential rental property, and businesses who need to rebuild their properties after a natural disaster. The program specifically provides funding for high performing, energy efficient, and resilient homes and structures. The grants and loans can be used to fund installation of high-efficiency heat pumps, renewable energy generation, battery storage, and electric vehicle charging stations. The money can also be used for products to achieve advanced energy certifications from federal programs and to brings buildings up-to-date with the most recent energy building code. The Colorado Energy Office can expand eligible uses of the funding as it sees fit.”

As our cities continue to rebuild, we stand with them (and a part of them) as #80027strong.
We love you all. Keep your heads up. We will get there!!
Love,
A Louisville Mother-Daughter Duo: Maggie & Rebecca Harper
